Production Technology of NdFeB Magnets
Generally speaking, the production process of NdFeB magnets is to mix and melt the materials, and then break the refined metal blocks into small particles. Put small particles into the die and press into shape. Then sinter. Sintering is blank. The shape is usually square or cylindrical. For example, the general size concentrates on the length and width of 2 inches, and the thickness is less than 1.5 inches. The thickness is the direction of magnetization (high performance magnets are oriented, so they have the direction of magnetization). Processing technology of NdFeB:
There are basically two kinds: cutting machine and wire cutting.
Cutting machine is a kind of diamond inner hole cutting blade with thickness of about 0.3 mm. According to the requirements, the magnet is cut into the required size. But this method only applies to simple square and cylindrical shapes. Because the inner hole is cut, the size of the magnet can not be too large, otherwise it can not be put into the blade.
Another method is wire cutting. Generally used for cutting ceramic tiles and large-scale products.
Drilling: Small holes are usually drilled with a vibrating diamond bit. Large holes, using sleeve holes, can save material costs.
Dimensional Accuracy of NdFeB Products
The dimensional accuracy of NdFeB products is about (+/-) 0.05 mm, which is more economical. In fact, the existing processing methods can achieve (-) 0.01 accuracy. However, NdFeB usually needs to be electroplated, so it needs to be cleaned before electroplating. The corrosion resistance of this material is very poor, and the dimensional accuracy will be cleaned out during the pickling process. Therefore, the accuracy of real electroplating products can not reach the level of pure cutting and grinding.
